Device connection for high currents

Improve efficiency and productivity is a common mission all companies want to achieve.  A company with high efficiency can produce more results while maintain it’s overhead, thus increase its profit margin. Through a switch of screw to spring connection technology,  it is possible to achieve the desired result.

Let’s take a look at the connectivity trends, the demand for quick-connection technology is steadily growing. Today, the spring-cage-based connection technologies allow convenient conductor connections within seconds, and the defined contact force makes them safe as well. In addition, terminal failure due to improper torque can be avoided this way. Until now, there is no device connection with quick-connection technology for cross sections of more than 35 mm².

The panel feed-through terminal blocks TW 50 and TW 95 with the new T-LOX connection technology from Phoenix Contact, connectivity has been comes simple and convenient. It even can support multi-strand connectors still ensuring a flexible and safe connection. The T-LOX connection principle is based on a spring that generates a programmed contact force with just a conventional screwdriver.

A Wireless Solution – Easy Expansion Without the Hassle.

Radioline – A Wireless Solution

What do you do when you need to collect more information from the field than you are currently able to? Traditionally, you would excavate then lay cables from the transmitter to the field device. A lot of hassle if your expansion was for just 4 signals. We may have just the wireless solution for you.

Recently, a water reclamation plant in the western part of Singapore had an existing system that required an expansion of 4 additional analog signal points. The distance between the field and the control room was only about 200 meters. However, to add just 4 signal from the field, proper wiring had to be done, including excavation and cable laying.

Our team, with the assistance of our system integrator met up with the customer to understand their needs. After determining the scope of work, a wireless solution was proposed. Instead of the labour-intensive cable solution, the team proposed the Phoenix Contact Trusted WirelessTM Radioline RAD-2400-IFS and the I/O extension module – RAD-AI4-IFS and RAD-AO4-IFS as an alternative.

Installing a wireless transmitter at both the field and the control room, our engineer then connected the analog signals to the IO cards, enabling the signal to be transmitted back securely. All this, from start to finish, we achieved in under an hour.

Trusted WirelessTM

Trusted WirelessTM 2.0 is a wireless technology specifically developed for industrial use. It provides rugged and reliable communications for your applications. In a 2.4 GHz band, Trusted WirelessTM 2.0 uses a Frequency Hopping Spread Specturm (FHSS) with up to 440 possible individual frequencies. Thus reducing the effects of interference signals.

We not only saved our customer a significant amount of time and manpower with the Radioline Wireless solution, future expansions would only require the addition of IO modules.

Euro 2016 – The Final Four

From |

After an exciting weekend of Quarter-finals, the 4 semi-finalists have emerged. We are one step closer to finding out which team will win the title and who will win the Limited Edition UEFA Euro 2016 German National Squad Lego Minifig Collection.

Portugal
Portugal’s lack-lustre performance in the group stages left many pondering if they would make an early exit. However, Ronaldo played the Captain’s part to inspire his team to reach the Semi-finals. Can he inspire them all the way to lift the trophy?

Wales
Having topped Group B during the group stages, Wales has performed consistently to secure their place in the final four. Will this be their year to finally claim the title of “Best in Europe”?

Germany
Being the only team left to have won this title three times (1972, 1980 and 1996); the other team being Spain. Germany will be looking to take home a fourth title to repeat their World Cup Feat. Joachim Löw’s team will have a tough match against host nation, France.

France
Having won in 1984 and 2000, France will be aiming to equal Spain’s and Germany’s achievement of three titles. France’s performance has been consistent since the group stages and culminated in a 5-2 drubbing of Iceland in the Quarter-finals. They will be bringing their ‘A game’ to the clash of the giants with Germany.

Is your team still in contention? Good luck!
