Champions of Europe
Portugal has finally been crowned the Champions of Europe! Taking on the mighty French on home soil, Fernando Santos’s squad held them to a 0:0 fulltime result. This was despite losing their influential captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, in the 25th minute.

After a clash with Payet, Ronaldo tried to play on, but it was painfully obvious that his knee injury was too severe for him to continue. Teary-eyed, Ronaldo could only watch from the sideline as his team pushed on.
France was not without scoring chances as Griezmann, Sissoko and Giroud all had shots on goal but the Portuguese keeper was at the top of his game as he kept them all out.
Substitute, Eder, a former Swansea striker, came on late in the second half and scored the winning goal in the 109th minute. Portugal then held on for the final 11 minutes to claim the title that had eluded them for so long.
Predict the EUFA Euro 2016 Champion
And we also have the winner of our “Predict the EUFA Euro 2016 Champion’ contest. As expected there were many entries predicting Germany, France and Spain as the Champion but there were only two entries that predicted Portugal.
Just like the UEFA Euro 2016, there can only be on winner.
