Crane Control System - Weighing Scale Sensor

Scientec designs and manufactures precise and cost effective PC-based control product providing both software and hardware solutions. Its PC-based products which are configured in CANopen communication protocol have been used in many applications covering a wide range of industries. One of the notable projects is the Crane Control System, which is widely used in shipyard, marine and construction industry.

Phoenix Contact’s SACC-DSI-M 8MS-4CON-L180 and SACC-M 8FS-4PCON were used in the design of this Weighing Scale Sensor as they provided these advantages:

Size – The design required a connector that was small but sturdy enough handle the rigors of daily use.
Material – The harsh environment that the weighing scale sensor would be operating in demanded an all-metal housing. The connectors are rated to work in ambient temperatures between -25 °C to 85 °C and are also IP68 certified.
Connection – Phoenix Contact’s trademarked Piercecon® connection requires no special tools. It is quick to install and connect. Despite being compact it is still able to support up to 17 poles on in an M12 connection. Piercecon® connectors are reusable which saves rewiring costs.
