VAL-MS…DC-PV surge arresters from Phoenix Contact, designed to protect photovoltaic systems against lightning and surge voltages, now have UL and Kema approvals.
The product range includes Type 1 lightning arresters and Type 2 surge voltage arresters. These devices are in compliance with the new EN 50539-11 standard for lightning and surge voltage protection devices for photovoltaic systems.
With a short-circuit current of 300 A, the protective devices are also suitable for use in large plants and systems. This means that the optimum protection is available for all standard applications.
All versions are pluggable. They comprise a multi-channel base element, each having one protective plug per channel. Every connector is equipped with function monitoring and status display.
The protective devices are also available with remote signaling contact, allowing monitoring signals to be wirelessly transferred.
