With its TP 3000 series, Phoenix Contact is presenting the second generation of its family of touch panels. The devices set themselves apart as they can be used with a wide range of fieldbuses. Profibus, MPI, CANopen, or serial interfaces are optionally available.
Furthermore, there is a connection for additional Ethernet-based drivers. All devices are factory equipped with one Ethernet and two USB interfaces.
The powerful Xscale PXA320 platform with 806 MHz processor and 128 MB SDRAM can be used across the board with all display sizes, extending from 14.48 cm (5.7”) up to 30.73 cm (12.1”). Touch panels up to and including the 7″ screens have backlit LED displays.
The LED backlighting can be dimmed or even shut off with the extended functional scope of the Visu+ visualization software, from Version 2.2x. Energy is saved and the lifetime is extended. In addition, it is possible to directly control the buzzer, which is integrated in the panels. Events such as alarms are then acoustically signaled.
These panels are used in medium-sized machines where standard HMI functionality is required – and can be used in almost all sectors thanks to the high-quality aluminum housing, which is dust protected and waterproof at the front in accordance with IP65 standards.
