Surge protection with low voltage protection levels provide optimum protection for your MCR applications.

Surge protection for MCR technology from Phoenix Contact provides signal circuits and interfaces with optimum protection against destructive surge voltages.

TERMITRAB - Surge protection for MCR TechnologyWith the Termitrab complete product range, Phoenix Contact now offers the the narrowest surge protective devices on the market. They are suitable for MCR applications starting from an overall width of just 3.5 mm. This means that the protective devices can protect up to 572 signals against surge voltages on just one meter of DIN rail.

The integrated disconnect device ensures safe behavior in the event of overload. It signals the status on each individual protective device mechanically without auxiliary power. Optional remote signaling modules monitor the status of up to 40 neighboring surge protective devices by means of a photoelectric barrier. Installation is simplified as a result: no additional wiring or programming is required for the protection modules.

Protective devices in a narrow design, products with protective plugs that can be tested, signaling, and optional remote signaling modules can be selected according to your specific requirements thanks to the tailor-made product range. The surge protective devices are available with Push-in connection technology as well as screw connection. Versions are also available with innovative knife disconnection and for Ex applications.

Customizable Power supplies with maximum functionality

Thanks to individual parameterization, you can optimally adapt your power supply to your application

The new generation of the high-performance QUINT POWER power supplies from Phoenix Contact ensures superior system availability by means of new functions.

Customizable power supplyOver 40 parameters can be adjusted individually with the new power supplies of the Quint Power series from Phoenix Contact. The devices can be ordered from the factory with customized parameters that vary from standard settings. The integrated NFC interface makes changing the signaling thresholds and characteristic curves more convenient than ever before.

The new Quint Power power supply from Phoenix Contact can be unpacked, installed in the control cabinet, connected and operated for many years. In addition, it is equipped with an integrated NFC interface and can be parameterized via mobile end devices or PCs if desired. This allows signaling thresholds and characteristic curves, for example, to be precisely adapted to the requirements of the system. In total, there are over 40 parameters that can be customized. The settings can be duplicated, which is especially practical. If the power supply is parameterized once, the settings can be transmitted to other devices easily using the app or software. The button located on the front side for adjusting the output voltage and all other configured parameters is also password-protected.

Cyber Security - Industrial network security provides protection against the dangers posed by increased networking

As the world is tapping into the new era of Cyber Security, Phoenix Contact showcased industrial firewalls and solutions for secure remote maintenance and security infrastructure for safeguarding industrial systems against cyber-attacks and viruses.

The protective circuit against surge voltages Moreover, Phoenix Contact shed light on surge protection and the latest devices that help protect against transient and high-energy voltage peaks.

An “effective protective circuit” helps to implement seamless surge protection.

And this is how it works:

Draw an imaginary circle around the object you want to protect.

Surge protective devices must be installed at all points where cables intersect this circle. The area within the protective circuit is therefore protected in such a way that conducted surge voltages are prevented.

Consider the following areas during planning:

  • Power supply
  • Measurement and control technology
  • Data processing, telecommunications
  • Transceiver devices

SOLARCHECK RSD wins the GIT Security Award

From |

The automatic SOLARCHECK RSD photovoltaic panel shutdown has won the GIT Security Award

The automatic SOLARCHECK RSD photovoltaic panel shutdown won the GIT Security Award in the Fire & Explosion Protection, Industrial Safety category.

The coveted prize in safety technology is awarded each year by the magazines GIT Sicherheit, GIT Security, and messtec drives Automation on behalf of publisher Wiley-VCH.

Electrical safety in photovoltaic systems: in 95% of systems the panels are connected to strings in series. This can generate potentially lethal DC voltages of up to 1000 V. Disconnection to protect against electric shock is difficult. Occupational health and safety can only be guaranteed if each individual panel is disconnected automatically. SOLARCHECK RSD safely shuts down your system during installation, maintenance or in hazardous situations. A safe state is achieved without intervention by an electrician. Even those who are not familiar with the safety rules and dangers, such as roofers or cleaning personnel, are protected.

Find out why the SOLARCHECK RSD makes working on photovoltaic systems so safe
