On our booth were wall exhibits showing the latest innovative products and solutions from Phoenix Contact. Some of these innovations include Solutions for Power Transmission & Distribution, Solutions for Renewable Energy, Push-in technology, Relay technology, Industrial Communication, Wireless Technology, Networking, Ethernet switches with IEC 61850, Power Supplies and System Availability, the latest Surge Protection technology – SEC (Safe Energy Control Technology), HMIs and industrial PCs. Tools, Signal conditioners, Marking and labeling, Cyber Security and Safety relay modules.
As the world is tapping into the new era of Cyber Security, Phoenix Contact showcased industrial firewalls and solutions for secure remote maintenance and security infrastructure for safeguarding industrial systems against cyber-attacks and viruses.
Moreover, Phoenix Contact shed light on surge protection and the latest devices that help protect against transient and high-energy voltage peaks.
An “effective protective circuit” helps to implement seamless surge protection.
And this is how it works:
Draw an imaginary circle around the object you want to protect.
Surge protective devices must be installed at all points where cables intersect this circle. The area within the protective circuit is therefore protected in such a way that conducted surge voltages are prevented.
Consider the following areas during planning:
- Power supply
- Measurement and control technology
- Data processing, telecommunications
- Transceiver devices
