The all-rounders who give more than just space

Phoenix Contact’s new MCS (Monitoring Case System) series offers a versatile housing solution for electronic components in building technology and industry, with a design that excels from PCB installation to easy mounting and maintenance.

MCS

Digitalization, decentralization, and data analysis are shaping both industry and building automation. To To ensure reliable monitoring of parameters such as CO₂ levels, temperature, pressure, and humidity, various sensors are required. Therefore, it is ideal for data to be processed and transmitted close to the measurement point. Consequently, this setup necessitates robust housings to protect sensitive electronics in harsh environments. Exactly what Phoenix Contact’s new Monitoring Case System (MCS) provides.

Requirements on modern housing systems

To support digitalization and decentralization, housing systems must offer strong technical performance, ease of use, and broad applicability. Phoenix Contact’s MCS housing family meets these needs with a modular, user-friendly design that allows individual configurations and further customization through mechanical processing and printing.

Housing family portfolio

To begin with, MCS housings are available in three sizes, each offered in both IP40 and IP65/67 versions. In addition, designers can select from three cover types: a designer frame, a fixed latching transparent window, or a hinged transparent window—all of which are available in four standard colors (light gray, yellow, blue, and black). Moreover, the system includes optional accessories such as an adapter plate for versatile use, additional hinges for easy mounting and maintenance, and separate PCB screws for securing extra PCBs or reinforcing the housing on the adapter plate.

Features and advantages of the MCS

The housing’s user-friendly design features special red hinges that users can retrofit, enabling them to open the housing like a fan while keeping the cover attached, freeing both hands for installation or maintenance. An integrated seal holds the cover in place and prevents it from getting lost.
