Are you looking for an easy way to combine conventional connection technologies for signal, data and power within one electronics enclosure for use on a DIN rail?

ICSThe requirements of the internet of things and Industry 4.0 means more and more technology needs to be incorporated within less space and the ability to bring multiple connection technologies onto the DIN rail is becoming increasingly more challenging. A typical device now needs to be able to communicate with units sitting directly along the same DIN rail as well as cloud bases or other devices located elsewhere within the facility whilst being as compact as possible to save space within the control cabinet.

If you are combining typical printed circuit board (PCB) terminal blocks for signal or power connections, RJ45s or D-subs for data and potentially connectors for antennas you typically have to utilise either multiple sides of an enclosure or use more than one unit. The result can mean tooling charges or delays in production due to extended lead-times to obtain your customised enclosure.

ICSWith the new Industrial Case System (ICS) you have the ability to combine various connection technologies within the same enclosure easily for the first time. The ICS is a modular design that enables multiple connection technologies to co-exist side by side and be assembled very quickly. The tray format allows you to position your connection technology in locations ideally suited to your needs and it can also utilise the new 8 pole TBUS DIN rail connector.

The product range includes the new modular ICS empty enclosure and the systematically coordinated PCB connection technology with 3, 4 and 5 positions in pitches of 3.5 mm and 5.0 mm, as well as the standard connections (RJ45, DSUB, USB, antenna, etc.) that can be integrated into the housing. With space at a premium in the control cabinet it’s also worth noting that two PCBs can be positioned within the ICS enclosure to help increase the capability of your device in the smallest possible footprint.
