Machine Building

In the modern era the challenges to machine builders have changed considerably. The following problems are now common place issues that need resolving:

  • Short delivery times
  • Reduced assembly time
  • Enhanced diagnostics
  • Reduction of shipping costs
  • Variances in material costs such as copper

Phoenix Contact is well aware of the challenges that our customers face. With the customer in mind, a range of products and solutions are available which assist with modular machine design, and overcoming the issues mentioned above. Remote I/O

The Inline range in both IP20 and IP67 affords flexibility in machine design. Supporting most leading industrial protocols the Inline range offers machine building customers a common I/O platform regardless of the PLC/PC used for the control system.

Axioline EAxioline is fast, robust and easy to integrate. The Axioline E (IP67) modules available in both plastic and metal bodies are particularly unique. With a module that has sixteen configurable digital inputs or outputs, local I/O in the field can be connected where it is required. Inline converters that allow the connection of both analogue and temperature signals give complete flexibility within one module.

Remote I/O offers the following advantages;

  • Increased diagnostics capture and local display
  • Reduced cabling costs back to the main panel
  • Zero errors and reduced wiring effort with M12 plug and play solutions
  • Modular machine design that allows for easier transportation and assembly/disassembly
