Blue is the colour, marking is the game!
From |Written by Andy Neat
Good morning everyone and welcome to my second written blog of the year! Alternatively, as you may have seen, I have been desperately trying to maintain my youth by filming vlogs instead of writing blogs. But with these fancy 4K HD cameras we have, there’s no hiding the sprouting grey hair on my chin or the wrinkles around my eyes making it rather clear that I am in fact a man in my 30’s.

Is it me, or has this year flown by so quickly?
It seems only like yesterday that we were lapping up and then moaning about the UK heatwave like the typical brits we are. But, with October on the horizon, we are getting ready for taking our network technology on the road to the IPExpo in London on the 3rd and 4th of October.

What’s new for Smart Networks…
From |Written by Gareth Chamberlain
For the last two weeks, we have been busy. The old technical wall has been demolished and a new wall has been constructed in its place. Why? You might ask. Not only do we update the demonstration wall every so often to show new products, we also thought this time it would be more suited to be more than just a showroom. So we decided to create the Smart Networks wall (cue unveiling music). This allows us to give more of a service towards yourself and the needs of an application.
What has surge protection got to do with safety?
From |Written by Mark Lloyd and Andy Maskell
Anything that increases the reliability of your safety circuit has to be a good thing…..
In fact, it is a basic requirement when using safety relays or Safe PLCs that the outputs are protected against overcurrent and overvoltage to prevent dangerous failures.
In the case of a safety relay output, this may be in the form of a welded relay contact for example.
