At Phoenix Contact we understand the problems that Machine Builders will come up against at concept, design, prototyping, testing and field testing. That’s why we put the features and benefits into our products to help you achieve your machine goals.
Our Heavycon Evo series (Part of the Phoenix Contact Heavycon Complete heavy duty offer) has been developed with the Machine Builder firmly in mind.

With Heavycon Evo, you get compatible connections with flexible combinations. By this we mean we have minimised the number of parts in the portfolio whilst covering all of the application and sizing requirements.
Why keep a top entry hood and a side entry hood on your shelf because you’re not quite sure yet what the optimum cable access route will be?
With Heavycon Evo you can decide whether top or side cable entry into the hood at any time and even future proof your connection. All you have to do to change the orientation is to release the bayonet EVO lock cable entry and move to another position.
This benefit goes beyond design, prototype, testing and production. Once your machine is bought and installed by the customer, they will enjoy the flexibility of being able to quickly (and inexpensively) move the machine to other locations and choose the best cable entry angle for the machine’s new position. This is of real benefit where there are multiple connector configurations in a confined or restricted space.
I addition to unparalleled flexibility, the Heavycon Evo series offers the assurance that the housings are compatible with standard aluminium housings fom other manufacturers that build to the established heavy duty connector DIN standard.
The Heavycon Evo series is available in both glass re-inforced plastic and metal versions. Whilst your first thoughts on a plastic heavy duty connector may be that this material is inferior to the weightier metal versions, nothing could be further than the truth. The polyamide material has been tested to the harshest environments and stresses and the metal inlays that are used to seat the contact inserts and coding screws give you the confidence that the electrical bridge between the PE contacts will ensure adherence to the standards.
The metal Evo series offers EMC protection and has been specifically developed for applications with increased environments.

Add all this to the fact that you can choose the termination technology that is right for your application- whether your preference is screw, push in, crimp or IDC (insulation displacement connection)- we have a solution that will meet your needs.
