With the recent events in the Ukraine can you afford to take that risk? The December 23rd outage at the Prykarpattaoblenergo Power plant in the western region of Ukraine suffered a scenario that few organisations would want to experience.
The power outage was caused by a compromised computer, with a small executable application within the system. This malware targets SCADA systems and infects, silently searching for systems that it can control. The name of this Malware is “Blackenergy” – a small piece of code that can bring down systems and has brought misery to over 80,000 people.
