When the work environment needs to be smarter, so do the facilities that underpin them.
State-of-the-art building installations place high demands on terminal block systems. All of the components must be able to be installed quickly to keep costs to a minimum, and the wiring must be transparent and reliable.
As a consequence, terminal blocks that are specifically used in installation systems have special features. For instance, the mounting dimensions for installation distribution systems must be maintained. The neutral conductor busbars used in installation systems must be routed next to terminal blocks so that touch protection is assured. Neutral conductor disconnect terminals must be used to measure the insulation resistance of the neutral conductors with respect to ground without having to disconnect any conductors. It is imperative that the terminal points are clearly labelled to obtain transparent wiring. The labelling also simplifies subsequent documentation. Ideally, existing installation distributors should be able to be expanded without any restrictions.
Electrical installations in communal facilities such as schools, hospitals, assembly points, restaurants, and all public buildings must fulfil special normative requirements. Insulation resistances must be measured during startup or when servicing the system according to DIN VDE 0108-100 (EN 50172) without directly disconnecting the neutral conductor. Installation terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact are precisely tailored to the requirements of electrical installations and distributor construction.
The neutral conductor can be conveniently separated for test purposes by means of a screwless, spring-loaded disconnect. When it is simply levered over with a standard screwdriver, it makes contact on the 3 x 10 mm standard profile. The disconnect slide locks into the end positions and the switching states are clearly signalled. These are sound prerequisites for the quick and safe testing of all versions. The double function shafts allow potentials to be multiplied with ease. Clearly visible marking surfaces and testing facilities at every terminal point ensure clarity, regardless of the mounting position.
PTI installation terminal blocks with push-in connection can be wired without tools. Strip the conductors, plug them in, and you’re done. This represents a clear advantage in terms of the time it takes to perform wiring. The terminal blocks can be released using the actuation lever made from insulation material.
And, as with all of the Phoenix Contact Clipline complete range, there is a uniform range of accessories, marking and test accessories.
So when it comes to providing electrical services to the whole of your facility, Phoenix Contact has got it covered.
