The technology used in mining has certainly changed over the years and looking back at the history of mining is certainly very interesting. If one looks at diamond mining, the Kimberly Diamond Mine known as “the Big Hole” produced 14,5 Mil carats over a period of 43 years. In 2017 the Debeers mining group produced a massive 33,4 Mil carats in just one year! It is 
staggering to see the growth in production. This is obviously due to the developments in technology and innovative solutions available in the market today. The latest developments in digitilization or “Digi Mining” are now making mining smarter year on year and obviously assisting in cost reductions as well as growth in production.
