When I was a young Lad I recall having a bicycle clamp to secure my possessions. Albeit to say my possessions were still stolen! Maybe I needed something like this? If you have ever been met with the problem of measuring Current on large Busbars and then having the eternal hassle of having to disconnect the power and actually decouple the bars themselves, then you know how time consuming and frustrating this can be. We take a look below at the PACT-RCP from Phoenix Contact which completely solves this problem.
Using the PACT-RCP from Phoenix Contact.
The PACT-RCP current transformers for retrofitting can be mounted conveniently, even in spaces that are too confined for split core transformers. You will benefit from fast installation without having to remove system parts. The Range has been expanded with new versions with various cable lengths to the amplifier for more convenient installations.
High demand for retrofitting of current measurement equipment.
An important point in the control loop of an energy management system is, among others, the continuous measurement and monitoring of all energy parameters. In older and developed plants, there is a significant need for retrofitting current measurement equipment. During installation, the challenge is to disturb plant operation as little as possible and avoid expensive downtime’s.
Providers of traditional current transformers focus on so-called current transformer retrofit kits with a two-part ferrite core. Compared to standard current transformers, current transformer retrofit kits can be installed quickly, as they can be easily opened and placed around the busbar. However, this method has certain disadvantages and it has remained essentially unchanged for the past 30 years. For example, when closing the housing, there is always an air gap that remains between the two movable parts of the transformer core.
With the PACT-RCP, Phoenix Contact offers customers an innovative product solution that dramatically improves the process of retrofitting current measurement equipment.
