Chestnut Avenue Waterworks is one of the largest immersed membrane plant producing drinking water designed by Black & Veatch in Singapore .
The installation was one of a kind as permeate pumps was completely eliminated, commonly membrane train are used to draw water through the membranes and was replaced this with a siphon system taking advantage of the lie of the land. This solution eliminated 24 large permeate pumps and associated variable frequency drives and reduced capital and operating cost, reduced plant footprint and resulted in a very simple system to maintain.
