The year is 2050 and the Paris climate agreement of 2016 is a distant memory but the world has responded dramatically to the existential threat of climate change.

As I sit here writing this blog, the electricity charging the battery in my tablet is 100 percent green and coming from my solar tiled roof. The national grid still exists but is fed from thousands of micro grids dotted around the country and coastline. These micro grids are no longer powered by the dirty leftovers from the dinosaur era but by solar, wind and wave generated energy and backed up by utility scale battery farms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Our world is fully electric and a lot greener for it, thanks to the re-forestation of great parts of our green and pleasant land and micro farms growing edibles within the heart our lush urban sprawls.

Our electric economy is a connected infrastructure of smart buildings, electric vehicles and personal mobility on demand…

\u2026Back in the present day, at Phoenix Contact we believe that this utopian world is actually closer than you think.
