What that experience has taught me, is that including a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/online\/portal\/gb?1dmy&amp;urile=wcm%3apath%3a\/gben\/web\/main\/products\/subcategory_pages\/UPS_for_AC_applications_P-22-07-08\/f74191b4-58c2-4c05-98e2-6c7da3dd844f?cpn=blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> UPS<\/a> in a system design is very often an afterthought. In smaller systems such as a typical ICA panel, where only a few kVA is required, space is often at a premium. Therefore, trying to fit a UPS in post design can be tricky.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/assets\/images_ed\/local_gb\/web_content_3col\/pic_con3_gb_0022082_en.jpg\" alt=\"blog_stage_quint\" width=\"676\" height=\"713\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What generally happens is that a standard off the shelf, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/online\/portal\/gb?1dmy&amp;urile=wcm%3apath%3a\/gben\/web\/main\/products\/subcategory_pages\/DC_UPS_with_integrated_power_supply_P-22-07-07-02\/1fc7afdc-7c7b-4e2e-ae2a-321c646960aa?cpn=blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">commercial UPS<\/a> is placed in the bottom of the panel.\u00a0 This firstly does not look very good and secondly is not a very industrial solution.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Phoenix Contact power supplies and UPS are designed for use within industrial control cabinets. Thus far we only manufacture din rail solutions, although I\u2019m here to tell you; that may not always be the case.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The latest addition to our AC UPS line up is a 1kVA UPS in the well-known <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/online\/portal\/gb?1dmy&amp;urile=wcm%3apath%3a\/gben\/web\/main\/products\/subcategory_pages\/DC_UPS_with_integrated_power_supply_P-22-07-07-02\/1fc7afdc-7c7b-4e2e-ae2a-321c646960aa?cpn=blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">QUINT family<\/a>. In terms of the size of the unit, the image doesn\u2019t really do it justice, but to give you an idea, think of a standard shoe box, well it is slightly smaller than that.<\/p>\n<p>A true <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/online\/portal\/gb?1dmy&amp;urile=wcm%3apath%3a\/gben\/web\/main\/products\/subcategory_pages\/DC_UPS_with_integrated_power_supply_P-22-07-07-02\/1fc7afdc-7c7b-4e2e-ae2a-321c646960aa?cpn=blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Online UPS<\/a>, with 1kVA\/900W of power (that can be doubled up to 1800W), it is one of the smallest UPS available in its class, and it is DIN rail mountable so it looks professional too.
