I trust you all had a lovely mince pie, mulled wine, pigs-in-blanket and chocolate laden Christmas\u2026 I know I certainly did, well that\u2019s what my bathroom scales tell me anyway.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Thermomark Prime\" src=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/assets\/images_ed\/global\/web_content_1col_mobile\/pic_con1_a_0069343_int.jpg\" alt=\"Thermomark Prime\" width=\"220\" height=\"220\" \/>So I find myself sitting here again with the task of keeping you enthralled with a blog about marking. The bad news for you is I have a habit of being quite boring, the good news is that these blogs are edited. With that said though I have a cracking bit of kit to tell you about.<\/p>\n<p>For 4 years I\u2019ve been Product Manager for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/online\/portal\/gb?1dmy&amp;urile=wcm%3apath%3a\/gben\/web\/main\/products\/subcategory_pages\/Printing_systems_P-12-01\/effbffe8-c4af-4aeb-bf47-20b1d6c57725?cpn=blog\">marking systems<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/online\/portal\/gb?1dmy&amp;urile=wcm%3apath%3a\/gben\/web\/main\/products\/subcategory_pages\/Tools_P-25\/3d7b966e-fe2c-4aab-ad5f-b98db236d62a?cpn=blog\">tools<\/a>.\u00a0Most of the time when requested to visit a customer who wants to look at a new marking system it\u2019s because they either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>need to upgrade from the competitor printer they have been using.<\/li>\n<li>they want a more cost effective package.<\/li>\n<li>they\u2019ve seen a working partner using one of our systems and liked it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more-->Or, believe it or not, it\u2019s because they\u2019re handwriting their markers and want to look at printed options. \u00a0I\u2019m not knocking this way of marking because, at the end of the day, there&#8217;s more than one way to skin a cat and if the terminals and wires etc are identified then who cares, right?<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s say you&#8217;re a dab-hand with a Sharpie and you can write one\u00a0label in 2-3 seconds, that\u2019s not bad- but a marking system can print up to over 70 labels in less then 8 seconds! Or more specifically our new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/online\/portal\/gb?1dmy&amp;urile=wcm%3apath%3a\/gben\/web\/offcontext\/insite_landing_pages\/3882ec67-59db-4eb3-9925-ccdd63a24b5f\/3882ec67-59db-4eb3-9925-ccdd63a24b5f?cpn=blog\" class=\"broken_link\">Thermomark Prime<\/a> can mark labels that quick!<\/p>\n<p>But, in my opinion, it\u2019s not only about the time saved that\u2019s important with marking, it\u2019s a professional look too. A cabinet looks a lot more professional if the markers are printed nice and neatly (but I would say that with surname like \u2018Neat\u2019) Again, I\u2019m not knocking hand written marking but, in the eyes of a customer, if you were to buy a Apple MacBook\u00a0 you wouldn\u2019t expect the letters on the keyboard to be written in felt-tip when you\u2019ve spent \u00a3900 for it.<\/p>\n<p>With the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/online\/portal\/gb?1dmy&amp;urile=wcm%3apath%3a\/gben\/web\/offcontext\/insite_landing_pages\/3882ec67-59db-4eb3-9925-ccdd63a24b5f\/3882ec67-59db-4eb3-9925-ccdd63a24b5f?cpn=blog\" class=\"broken_link\">Thermomark Prime<\/a>, I can comfortably say <em>\u2018there is no marker in a machine or cabinet that this printer can\u2019t print.<\/em>\u2019 \u00a0OK, it can\u2019t engrave, but\u00a0in the very rare cases that something\u00a0can\u2019t be printed on the Thermomark Prime, then it probably can be done on one of our other devices -like shrink sleeve markers for example.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Thermomark Prime onsite\" src=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/assets\/images_ed\/global\/web_content_2col\/pic_con2_a_0071110_int.jpg\" alt=\"Thermomark Prime onsite\" width=\"440\" height=\"295\" \/><br \/>\nOne the beauties of the Thermomark Prime is its mobile abilities. Not only can it be installed on a PC and be used as a regular printer, but it can hold an 8 hour charge and be used independently on site or at the application with the touchscreen powered by Android. (Apple and Android quoted together in the same blog? I must be crazy!)<\/p>\n<p>This is marketed as a mobile printer but I think it\u2019s more of a hybrid by the fact it can be used either stationary or on the go, which puts more control in your hands. One of the best features of its mobile properties is that you can create a project of labels on your PC using our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoenixcontact.com\/online\/portal\/gb?1dmy&amp;urile=wcm%3apath%3a\/gben\/web\/main\/products\/subcategory_pages\/Marking_software_P-12-05\/992fd3b8-2a2e-46b1-9d58-3466875ec40d?cpn=blog\" class=\"broken_link\">software (Clip Project)<\/a> and use a USB stick to save them on the printer\u2019s hard drive to print where ever you want.<\/p>\n<p>Gone are the days when you are on site installing a machine or cabinet and you need to call the office to send you some more markers that you\u2019ve just dropped into your pot of mechanical grease! You can just pop out to the van and print some more off if you need to, which brings me on nicely to the fact we have a car charger available for the printer\u2019s battery pack\u2026.not to mention a back pack to carry it all in.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to be unbiased when Phoenix Contact are paying my wages, but in my honest opinion this is one of the best marking systems in the world right now! With its integration properties with the Clip Project software (and did I mention EPLAN?) and flexible printing needs.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s fast become our best selling printer, it truly is awesome!
