{"id":215,"date":"2013-02-25T09:00:08","date_gmt":"2013-02-25T09:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/phoenixcontactuk.wordpress.com\/?p=215"},"modified":"2013-02-25T09:00:08","modified_gmt":"2013-02-25T09:00:08","slug":"introducing-andy-mills-key-account-manager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.phoenixcontact.com\/marketing-gb\/introducing-andy-mills-key-account-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing&#8230;Andy Mills, Key Account Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Written by Andy Mills, Key Account Manager<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-220 alignright\" style=\"margin-left:10px;margin-right:10px\" alt=\"Andy Mills, Key Account Manager\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.phoenixcontact.com\/sales-uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2013\/02\/andy-mills.jpg\" width=\"244\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.phoenixcontact.com\/marketing-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2013\/02\/andy-mills.jpg 498w, https:\/\/blog.phoenixcontact.com\/marketing-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2013\/02\/andy-mills-231x300.jpg 231w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 244px) 100vw, 244px\" \/>Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Andy Mills \u2013 Key Account Manager for Phoenix Contact Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>I have worked for Phoenix Contact for over 7 years now, I joined in August 2005 as a \u201cTrainee Sales Engineer\u201d.\u00a0 Due to my lack of sales experience (my experience up to that point was mainly electrical), it was decided I would spend almost 1 year training on all things sales and the World of Phoenix Contact.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->My training included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 month Customer Services<\/li>\n<li>1 month Warehouse &amp; Assembly<\/li>\n<li>4 months Product &amp; Marketing<\/li>\n<li>4 months Sales (external with each Sales Engineer)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This training gave me really good insights into both the inner workings of Phoenix Contact UK and also different approaches to external sales \u2013 varying from the \u201csuper organised\u201d, to the \u201cbullish\u201d and finally to the \u201cmega laid-back\u201d.\u00a0 All, I believe, have their merits.<\/p>\n<p>So I inherited the West Midlands Sales Region in 2006, which over the last 5 years I have seen grow tenfold in terms of turnover.
