Bailee Koncar, 21, studies Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, and Spanish at The Pennsylvania State University.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Attracted to the global presence<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am from Middletown, PA, which is conveniently located right next to Phoenix Contact USA\u2019s headquarters, which gave me a lot of exposure to the company while I was growing up. I discovered the wide range of opportunities they offered within the field of logistics, but I was also attracted to the company\u2019s global presence and involvement with the community. I have always valued exploring new cultures and traveling, so this was very important to me when choosing a company!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Meaningful assignments<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\"Auslandspraktikum\"<\/a>Last summer in Harrisburg, I was the Strategic Purchasing and Quality Intern, which focused on procurement and inspection of the products. This summer I am working with the Transportation and Compliance Management department in Blomberg as the Logistics Intern. I have been able to work on projects with three different teams within the department, some of which include: analyzing transportation modes based on freight rates and quantities to determine cost efficiency, conducting research on the trade war between the US and China, utilizing SAP to identify all products impacted by increased taxes, and identifying patterns in order to better prepare and anticipate future orders.<\/p>\n

A global experience<\/strong><\/h4>\n

As I mentioned, I love to travel, so it has a great opportunity to not only work with Phoenix Contact, but also be centralized within Europe to enjoy some adventures outside of the office! My trips to Czech Republic, Belgium, and the Netherlands were great, and I hope to be back in Europe soon for more.<\/p>\n

I have had a very positive experience with Phoenix Contact, learning about multiple departments and their functions as I prepare for my future career. All of the employees that I have met have been incredibly friendly and always more than willing to assist me.<\/p>\n
